Semester 2 Goals
During semester one, I didn't learn too much about actual construction techniques as I already had experience with clay before, but I learned a lot more about time management and how long large projects actually take me to create. I want to produce good-quality things that I like and so in order to do this, Ive learned that I really need to take my time, especially with glazing, as I tend to rush that step.
In the second semester, my goal is to only produce things that have a use and I'm happy with, because I don't want to waste my time on projects that I don't want to display. If that means I will avoid certain projects in order to have more time to do the one I'm currently working on, I'll do that. I also would really like to learn how to throw better so I can combine my sculpting skills with throwing (Ex: sculpting a shark onto a coffee mug). I also would like to learn how to sculpt pieces that "defy gravity"-- kind of like the wings of the hummingbird I just made.
